Meet the Banana Tennis Crew: Our Story

Wassup bros! We’re the crew behind Banana Tennis, and we thought it was time to properly introduce ourselves. This isn’t your standard “About Us” page — this is the Clubhouse edition babe (aka the fun one).

Meet Gaia (aka Mom, Designer, Creative Mastermind)

Hi, I’m Gaia! I’ve worked for many years as a professional graphic artist and designer — first in Milan, Italy (where I’m from 🇮🇹), and later in Los Angeles, where I’ve designed & worked as an Art Director for big social media agencies and major international clients in the entertainment industry (think Warner Brothers, Netflix, Universal, Paramount, HBO... just to name a few).

When my husband Raf and my son Leo picked up tennis together, I wanted in — even if I wasn’t on the court (yet!). So I combined my design background with our new tennis obsession. What started as a few fun tees for our little family tennis crew quickly grew into a playful collection of hoodies, water bottles, mugs, and more — all custom designed to capture the joy, energy, and boldness of the game.

(P.S. I’m learning to play tennis this year — wish me luck!)

Meet Leo (aka Co-Founder, Age 10, Chief Energy Officer)

Hi! I’m Leo 👋 and I love everything about tennis. Seriously — if I’m not playing, I’m probably watching a match, or designing new gear ideas with my mom. I also love playing video games (duh 🎮).

I wanted other kids like me to have a place where they could find fun tennis outfits and cool gear — nothing boring, just bold. That’s how Banana Tennis was born.

If you see tees like One Match, One Ball, Zero Mercy or Wus Good Bro, that’s me making sure kids have stuff that actually feels fun.

🎤 Leo says: “My favorite part of Banana Tennis is coming up with crazy ideas with my mom. I want tennis clothes that kids actually want to wear — not boring stuff.”

Why “Banana Tennis”?

Funny story — the name was actually Leo’s idea. We wanted something fun and unforgettable, and we played around with a bunch of silly names: Pizza Tennis, Skibidi Tennis (which we really liked, too!)… but then Leo proposed Banana Tennis, and it just clicked. It had the playful, colorful energy we wanted: fearless, fresh, and a little cheeky.
